To me, when someone says they want to lose weight, what they really mean is that they want to look better, feel better, and live better. This is achieved through fat loss and is drastically different than just weight loss. Understanding this difference is crucial in your success because this is typically where things go wrong. This is when people tend to get fixated on the scale. They believe as long as the number is going down, they are reaching their goal. If the number goes up, all hope is lost, and different methods need to be taken into account. It really is a vicious cycle. Weight loss can be achieved through not drinking enough water, limiting carbs, drastically lowering calories, losing muscle mass, and/or a combination of these things. These factors will not make you look better, feel better, or live better. Furthermore, these factors will not bring lasting results and many times can lead to further weight gain. During this blog I want to touch on some key education points regarding fat loss and then share a resource that can help change the game for you!
Fat loss is a non-linear (contains natural fluctuations in weight) strategic process. If done correctly, fat loss can lead to a 1-2 pound drop each week. It's not about eliminating any one macronutrient. It's not about drastically lowering calories. It's about enjoying food, feeding your body what it needs, exercising, eating balanced, and eating within a caloric deficit. In the end, this will make you look, feel, and live better.
Fat loss doesn't have to be miserable. There are a lot diet plans out there that will diminish your will power and ability to enjoy life while trying to lose fat. I've tried a lot of them over the past 5 years. I remember what the cravings were like. I remember how guilty I felt when I would "cheat". I remember how frustrated I was when I wasn't seeing the results because I couldn't sustain the requirements of the diet.
The good new is, there is a better way! Whether you are someone that has 100 lbs to lose or just has those last couple pounds of stubborn belly fat. This is by far the most sustainable and enjoyable process I have ever used. If you are frustrated or hopeless in your fat loss journey this is for you.
